Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition Graces Morrison Gallery

Artwork by students at the University of Minnesota Morris will be on display during the 2024 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Edward J. and Helen Jane Morrison Gallery. 

Studio Vibes, the 2024 Juried Student Art Exhibition, will feature more than 60 works from majors and non majors who took part in studio art courses from spring 2023 to spring 2024. Artwork includes printmaking, sculpture, drawing, digital, fibers, ceramics, and artists books. 

The juror for this exhibit is Rebecca Vaughan, a mixed media artist and fibers/foundations instructor working out of the Kansas City Area. 

Rebecca Vaughan was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She has lived in the Netherlands and Canada. She received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University and BFA cum laude in Sculpture at the University of Colorado, Boulder. To more fully pursue her art career, she departed working in non-profits and has instructed part-time for the Kansas City Art Institute. Rebecca is a member of ArtNauts, an art collective which exhibits only in countries experiencing conflict and contention. She previously served as the Artistic Director of PlatteForum, a non-profit which hosts artists-in-residence from all over the world. She recently served as the Program Director for the Art Students League of Denver and was the Chair of Fine Arts and Head of Sculpture at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. 

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, Feb.29th from 7-8 p.m., featuring the annual ice cream social. 

The Morrison Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 4 p.m.  Visitor parking is available in the North lot.
